Science writer Richard Preston talks about some of the most enormous living beings on the planet, the giant trees of the US Pacific Northwest. Growing from a tiny seed, they support vast ecosystems -- and are still, largely, a mystery.
I wanted a place dedicated to all the humanitarian and environmental issues that I come across daily. My goal with this blog is to help create awareness concerning issues of social/political injustices, poverty, human rights, the environment, sustainability, psychological and spiritual health. So if I can facilitate in that awareness, channel people's attention, educate, and organize these ideas and policies for my readers, I believe collectively we can change society and humanity for the better. Reflections will contain some of my own musings but for the most part I will be pooling and gathering ideas from other talented activists, organizations, and writers already leading the charge on these vital issues. The goal is to inspire an evolution; this is the era for change!
